There are cases when only one method is not enough to draw a broader image of the given issue. Often the qualitative interviews with individuals, specialists, experts who are experienced in the related field are required to bring out the cause-and-effect linkages of the obtained data. Such interviews aim at revealing statements, experience, implicit details that help shaping a complete subject method.
Qualitative interviews are incomparable for case studies on sensitive issues of society, because the non-formal and semi-structured interviews create an atmosphere for conducting relaxed conversations.
We apply the method of qualitative interviewing when we need the following:
- look into the wide network of social relations,
- obtain accurate information on specific fields,
- discover basics of object that is either under investigation or is not fully explored,
- determine cause-and-effect linkages between various areas and events.
