On the November 26th the conference “Public Communications: current challenges and development prospects in Armenia 2013” was held at YSU Palyans Hall.
The conference was organized by YSU Faculty of Sociology and the Information and Public Communication Technology Centre of Yerevan State Linguistic University. The conference was supported by the Armenian Public Relations Association, “SPRING PR” Company and IPSC – Institute for Political and Sociological Consulting.
Welcoming speeches were made by the leading PR experts; Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Armenia Arman Saghatelyan, “SPRING PR” Company Co-founder and YSU Associate lecturer Nvard Melkonyan, YSU Faculty of Sociology Dean Arthur Mkrtchyan and Professor, Doctor of Philosophy from Kiev State University, a prominent specialist in communication technologies Georgy Pocheptsov. IPSC CEO Hovhannes Grigoryan’s welcoming speech was also delivered to the audience. Hovhannes Grigoryan highlighted some key benefits of the conference: opportunities to develop professional communities in Armenia, to find friends and partners and to educate new generations of PR specialists.
The conference consisted of three sections: “Public sector current problems: PR development trends”, “Crisis communication and information security problems” and “Young Professionals’ Chair”, where speeches were made by the students. IPSC – Institute for Political and Sociological Consulting Public Relations Manager Nune Melkoumian introduced a presentation on Business to Business PR development in Armenia and main features of B2B PR. She also highlighted the main differences between B2B and B2C PR.
The conference will be held annually. The main aim of the conference is to provide opportunities for cooperation.
